CDisplayEx

There is no denying that reading comics is a fun way to spend the time. There’s also no denying that CDisplayEx makes it very easy to read comics. You see, this is a Windows application offered for free by Henri Gourvest, an application that puts the emphasis on comics. Load any comic you want into the application and you’ll be able to read and easily navigate it via its simple interface.

The installation file (an executable) is 5.5MB in size, so downloading it won’t take long. Run this file and you will be presented with a standard setup wizard. It will ask you to choose the installation folder, choose between a Full, Compact and Custom Installation, select the Start Menu folder, and choose if you want a desktop shortcut on your screen. It is a standard setup procedure really, one that will not pose any problems.

As you would expect, the comic you loaded takes up the main part of the interface. At the top, in the upper left hand corner, there’s a traditional File Menu. In the upper right hand corner you will see several buttons: to navigate between the pages, to show thumbnails of all the pages, to go full screen, to display two pages at the same time, and so on. Overall, the interface is very easy to navigate – even if you’re a complete novice, you will quickly get the hang of it.

Using CDisplayEx is a very simple 3-step process:
Step 1 – load a comic into the application. The nice thing here is that CDisplayEx provides support for many file types.
Step 2 – for a more enjoyable experience, there are various visual options you can play with: full screen or full desktop, thumbnails, slider, automatic slideshow, zoom, rotate, shadow, double page, fit to screen, magnifier, auto colors.
Step 3 – enjoy your comic.
